About a month ago I upgraded two my computers to Ubuntu 11.10. I wrote about my experience in Ubuntu 11.10 – one week experience.
And now I should admit, that Ubuntu failed to become permanent OS on my computers. I was looking for a replacement and someone advised me to try Linux Mint. First I re-installed OS on my Lenovo x61. Everything worked just out-of-box, but fingerprint didn’t started immediately. I am going to work on this issue later.
Today I replaced Ubuntu on my Dell Studio 1555. I should say that whole installation and configuration process took me less than an hour.
The only problem, I met during installation – I needed to connect to Internet via Twisted pair cable, because wifi in my Dell laptop uses Broadcom STA driver, which should be installed as Restricted Driver. In other case everything went smoothly.
